Edward M. (”Ted”) Kennedy served Massachusetts in the United States Senate from 1963 until his death Wednesday, August 26 at age 77. His departure creates the first open U.S. Senate seat since fellow senator John Kerry’s election in 1984.

Since his death, six major candidates — four Democrats and two Republicans — have launched campaigns to succeed him, sending ripple effects throughout the state’s political landscape. Many of our clients have expressed interest in this contest and its aftermath, and this news feed is designed to help them follow these developments more closely.
